Actor Mark Wahlberg says he does not think celebrities should publicly voice their opinions about politics especially when they don't know about it.

Amidst the heated political debates of the 2016 election, celebrities were a source for many of the major arguments for and against US Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

But, according to the "Ted" star, the outspoken of the entertainment business should stick to the arts, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn't," said Wahlberg adding, "You know, it just goes to show you that people aren't listening to that anyway. They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don't put food on their table. You don't pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood lives in a bubble."

The 45-year-old actor believes that celebrities do not know about the everyday problems faced by a common man.

"They're pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family."

Wahlberg, however, feels that his real world experiences have encouraged him to shy away from certain aspects of celebrity culture.

"Me, I'm very aware of the real world. I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities it's afforded me, I also understand what it's like not to have all that," he said.
