Markaz to celebrate 37th anniversay

: Islamic scholars from Europe, U.S.A., Africa and Asia will participate in the four day 37th annviersary celebrations of Jamia Markaz, noted Islamic seminary here, from December 18.

M Abdul Qadir Musliyar, President, Muslim Educational Board of India, will inaugurate the celebrations at Markaz campus, an official release said here today.

The conference will be attended by scholars from these nations. Sheikh MatharAl Ka'abi, Director, IslamicAffairs UAE, will inaugurate the concluding session on Dec 21.

Nearly 10 lakh believers from India and abroad are expected to attend the concluding session.

The conference will feature discussions and workshops on various issues pertaining to Muslim communities in South Asia. This includes Qur'an and Dawa conferences, a debate on minority education and a seminar on Muslim charity.
 

The summit will discuss the role of Ulemas in contemporary Muslim society and chalk out new strategies to combat radical trends among Muslim communities.

"Markaz been trying to address fundamental issues faced by the community and the method it adopts is more social than communitarian, said Sheikh Aboobacker Ahmad, founder of Jamia Markaz.
