Market-based price fixation of essential drugs flayed

"The decision of Group of Ministers would more or less legitimise the current exorbitantly high prices of essential medicines and there would be only token reduction in their prices," the Jan Swasthya Abhiyaan (JSA) said.

JSA comprises around 1000 participant organisations working for health care and health policy across the country.

The JSA said, "it was appalling that GoM has chosen to ignore the views of the Supreme Court and also of Health and Finance Ministries."
