Sleuths of Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested a market executive officer of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation while allegedly accepting bribe from a commission agent at Bahadur Rajoya village here.
Inspector Balbir Singh said that Gurdev Singh, a commission agent at grain market Bahadur Rajoya village, had purchased 3,854 bags of paddy from PAFC and market executive officer Kashmir Singh was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the commission agent for the purpose.
The deal was set in Rs 7,000, he said, adding that the Bureau was informed which caught the officer while accepting the bribe.
A case has been registered against him.
