A woman and her husband allegedly murdered a 45-year-old man with whom she purportedly had an affair, in the Kanwar Singh Nagar area of west Delhi, police said today.
According to police, Rajesh Kumar, a 34-year-old vegetable seller, has confessed to having killed one Mohan Singh with the help of his wife Madhu Gupta (32). The couple was arrested following the crime yesterday, police added.
"During questioning, it was found that Mohan had developed intimate relations with Madhu over the last two years.
"He (Mohan) used to visit her frequently in her husband's absence," said Additional Commissioner of Police (West), Ranvir Singh.
"Yesterday, Rajesh caught his wife and Mohan together at his residence whereupon he lost his temper and started beating up the latter.
"Madhu then stabbed Mohan several times with a knife at her husband's instigation, following which he died on the spot," Singh added.
A PCR call was made and a team from Nihal Vihar police station rushed to the spot and immediately arrested Rajesh and Madhu.
The knife which was allegedly used to commit the murder has been recovered and further inquiries are on into the case, police added.
