A 19-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her home in Jhalawar district, police said today.
Radhabai was married to Ishwar Singh alias Lal Singh Rajput since three years but had moved to her in laws' home in Payaria village under Pagaria police station in the district only this year, they said.
She ended her life in her room on Sunday evening, they added.
According to the police personnel at Pagaria police station Shyam Babu, the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained as no suicide note was recovered from the room.
On a complaint filed by the deceased's father, police have lodged a case that will be investigated by the sub divisional magistrate, Bhawanimandi, he added.
In his complaint, the father said that he was informed about his daughter's alleged suicide by her father-in-law yesterday evening.
When he reached her home, he found his daughter lying motionless with marks around her neck and foaming at the mouth, the police official said.
The woman's body was handed over to her family members after a postmortem by the medical board was conducted, he added.
