A married woman today alleged that two armed men robbed off Rs 6 lakh from her house in Outer Delhi's Rohini area when her businessman husband was away, police said today.

Although police have registered a case in this connection, it has found some irregularities in the woman's statements.

As per the victim Rati Goyal, the incident took place at around 4:30 PM yesterday when she and her two children where at home while her husband Praveen Goyal was away at his plastic-items factory in Narela Industrial Area.

"She says that two men came to her Rohini Sector-17 house and asked for water. As she went inside her house, they followed her and pointed a country-made pistol on her head before asking for money and other valuables," said a police official.

Scared, she gave them a bag kept in the house which contained Rs six lakh after which they fled. Her two young children were in another room of the house at the time of the crime, he said.

After the assailants fled, the woman informed her husband who called police. Praveen Goyal had brought Rs seven lakh out of which six lakh were meant for a business transaction while Rs one lakh were kept for household expenses.

Robbers have left their pistol at the spot which has been seized.

"Some neighbourhood women who were sitting outside their homes at the time of the crime have not seen anybody at the time of the incident," the official said.

When police asked the woman can she identify the robbers, she said their faces were covered.

"This is baffling, if their faces were covered then how does she agree to give them water," the official said while adding that investigations are on.
