A 27-year-old married woman was found hanging at her house at Shiv Colony here, while her brother alleged that she was murdered by her husband, police said today.
The victim identified as Pooja, who was working as a teacher at a private school, was found hanging at her house late last night, they said.
According to a complaint filed by the deceased's brother, Pooja, who was married to Parminder eight years ago, was allegedly killed by her husband and then hung to the ceiling to make it look like suicide, a police spokesperson said.
It was also alleged that Parminder used to beat up his wife demanding money, the spokesperson said.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a case has been registered against the victim's husband, police said, adding investigation is underway.
