Global hospitality chain Marriott International plans to introduce more of its brands in the metropolis and other places of West Bengal, an official said on Friday.
So far, Marriott manages properties under four brands - J W Marriott, Westin, Fairfield and Courtyard - in the state, out of which the first three are within the city and the last one in Siliguri.
"We operate 30 hotel brands globally. The city already has three brands which are J W Marriott and Westin in the luxury segment, Courtyard and Fairfield in the select services segment", Gaurav Singh, GM, JW Marriott Kolkata, said.
"We plan to introduce other brands from the Marriott stable in future," he said.
Singh said Luxury Collection brand of Marriott has been franchised to the ITC for its ITC Sonar and ITC Royal Bengal hotels in the city.
The Marriott chain operates 700 to 800 rooms in West Bengal including Siliguri.

On the hospitality sector in West Bengal, he said the reality is there is uptake in the premium hotel category.
"Kolkata has the ability to absorb more luxury hotel brands because of the city's growth potential," he said.
Marriott to launched its Fairfield brand at New Town in the metropolis targetting business travellers.
