'Coldplay' singer Chris Martin bought a panting of USD 65,5440 at a fundraiser organised for Haiti earthquake victims.

The 36-year-old frontman took the huge amount for the unique painting by street artist Banksy at a fundraiser for Haiti earthquake victims over the weekend, reported Hollywood Reporter.

The 'Paradise' singer fought off stiff competition from actress Bette Midler and actor Kevin Bacon in order to claim the painting.

Chris attended the high-profile Haiti Home Gala with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, held by Sean Penn at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills.

An amount of USD 850,000 for a sculpture has also been added to the relief.

The auction raised a large sum of cash for Haitian Relief Organisation, which was founded in 2010, in order to provide medical care, food and water, and develop housing following the earthquake.

Actors Idris Elba, Michael Douglas, Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron were also in attendance at the charity event.
