The film, which released in the US in November last year and went on to nab eleven nominations and five trophies at the Oscars this year, is being released in India by Viacom18.

Based on Brian Selznick's novel "The Invention of Hugo Cabret", the film narrates the astonishing adventure of a boy who lives between the walls of a Paris station. He is on a quest to unlock a secret left to him by his father.

It is first 3D and family film for Scorsese, who is a cult figure in direction with his masterpieces like "Taxi Driver", "Raging Bull", "Goodfellas" and "The Departed".

The film has been long awaited in India. "Hugo" will be third blockbuster Hollywood release for Viacom 18 Motion Pictures after "Transformer 3" and "Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol" of 2011. PTI BK
