Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki today extended the tenure of its Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa by another three years.
The board of directors of the company approved the re-appointment of Ayukawa as Managing Director and CEO for a period of three years with effect from April 1, 2016, Maruti Suzuki India said in a BSE filing.
Similarly, the board also approved re-appointment of Toshiaki Hasuike as Joint Managing Director for a period of three years with effect from April 27, 2016, it added.

When he took over, MSI had sold 11,71,434 units in the fiscal 2012-13 and it increased to 12,92,415 units in 2014-15. In the April-February this fiscal the company has sold 11,80,860 units.
During his tenure, the company has introduced many new models, including the recently launched compact SUV Vitara Brezza, premium hatchback Baleno and mid-sized sedan Ciaz.
A law graduate from Osaka University, Japan, he joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1980 and has handled several key assignments of the Japanese small car major in domestic market as well as in the group's overseas operations, including a stint as Managing Director of Pak Suzuki Motor Company from May 2004 to June 2008.
He served as Director on the Board of Maruti Suzuki India from July 2008 to March 2013.
Earlier, he took charge as the Managing Director at Maruti Suzuki India. He served as Managing Executive Officer and Executive General Manager, Global Marketing at Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan.
