Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today posted a 15.9 per cent rise in total sales in March at 1,29,345 units as against 1,11,555 units in the same month last year.
The company's domestic sales increased 14.6 per cent during the month to 1,18,895 units as against 1,03,719 units in March 2015.
Sales of mini segment cars, including, Alto and WagonR, however declined 8.7 per cent to 36,678 units from 40,159 units in the year-ago month, MSI said in a statement.

MSI said sales of its compact sedan Dzire Tour increased 21 per cent during the month under review at 3,161 units as against 2,613 units in March last year.
Sales of mid-sized sedan Ciaz rose 28.9 per cent to 5,480 units during the month. Sales of utility vehicles, including Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross and recently launched compact SUV Vitara Brezza surged over two-folds to 13,894 units in March this year from 6,218 units in the corresponding month last year.
Sales of vans, Omni and Eeco, rose 9.6 per cent to 12,896 units last month as compared to 11,768 units in the same period of the previous year. Exports during the month rose 33.4 per cent to 10,450 units as compared to 7,836 units in March last year, MSI said.
"The company ended 2015-16 with its highest ever sales of 14,29,248 units, a growth of 10.6 per cent. This comprises highest ever domestic sales of 13,05,351 units and 1,23,897 units of exports," MSI said.
The top four best-selling models in India viz Alto, Dzire, Swift and WagonR are from Maruti Suzuki, for the fourth year in a row, it added.
