Marvel Animation is coming up with its first full-length preschool series "Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends", that will debut on Disney Junior in 2021.
The announcement was made during Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment's panel at Disney' D23 Expo.
In "Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends", Peter Parker with his friends - Miles Morales and Gwen AKA Ghost-Spider - will team up with superheroes such as Hulk, Black Panther and Ms Marvel to defeat the villains and learn that teamwork is the best way to save the day.
"Preschool kids already love Spidey, so they'll be delighted to have Peter Parker swiping across their screens in this new series. Everyone at Marvel is thrilled to launch our first preschool series on Disney Junior, the gold standard platform for the audience.
"We believe parents and kids will be excited about these stories filled with themes of friendship, cooperation, solving problems and using your abilities to help others," said Cort Lane, senior vice president, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment.
The series is executive produced by Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Dan Buckley, Lane and Eric Radomski. Marsha Griffin will serve as co-executive producer.
Alfred Gimeno is the supervising animation producer, and Ashley Mendoza is attached as story editor
The announcement comes amid Marvel and Sony standoff which resulted in the end of movie rights sharing deal between the two studios for Spider-Man, an IP owned by Sony for decades.
