Maryland Governor honours Bollywood director Susi Ganeshan

Martin O'Malley, Governor of State of Maryland, has honoured filmmaker Susi Ganeshan for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Recalling his 15 years of service and hard work to promote Indian movies especially Tamil and now Hindi, the Governor said in his citation that the State of Maryland is proud to bestow the honour for his contribution to the entertainment industry.

Rajan Natarajan, Deputy Secretary of State of Maryland, presented the award and the replica of great seal of the State of Maryland to Ganeshan at an event in New York. The event was also attended by Bollywood actress Puja Gupta, of 'Go Goa Gone' fame.
 

Ganeshan and Puja are in New York to promote their latest Bollywood film 'Shortcut Romeo' after screening the movie and walking the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival along with actress Ameesha Patel.

Ganeshan has directed some award winning movies in Tamil such as 'Virumbukiren', 'Five Star', 'Thiruttu Payale' and 'Kanthaswamy'. His latest Hindi movie 'Shortcut Romeo' with actor Neil Nithin Mukesh in the lead is releasing on June 21.
