Masked men rob vehicles in Nawada

Around a dozen masked miscreants waylaid many vehicles, including two buses in Nawada district of Bihar and robbed valuables worth several lakhs of rupees from the travellers during the early hours today.

Nawada Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar Pandey said the incident happened on State Highway - 82, which goes from Gaya to Rajgir.

The robbers stopped the vehicles at a place called Faldu under Nardiganj police station. Many of the vehicles belonged to tourists who flock the area during the winter season.

"The two buses that were looted were part of a marriage procession. They were supposedly carrying jewellery and other valuables. Police teams have reached the spot and has started investigating the matter," the SDPO said.
 

The police has also started conducting raids in the area to nab the miscreants.
