The incident took place near Dulhani village under Baghchini police station area, in which, Vishal Singh Yadav's weapon was forcefully taken away.
The trio, who were on a motorcycle, hit Yadav's two-wheeler from behind, following which, Yadav and his assistant fell on the ground and the masked looters ran away with his gun and cartridges, police said.
This is the fourth incident in the last fortnight, in which, unidentified persons have snatched away licensed weapons of local people, police said. They suspect that organised gangs were behind the crime.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on, they said.
