The four robbers came on motorbikes and parked them near the shop. While two waited outside, their accomplices entered the shop and attacked the guard and the manager with iron rods.
After attacking the shop's cashier, other staff and customers they decamped with jewellery.
The total value of the jewellery was yet to be ascertained, police said.
