Masoor, its dal up on upsurge in demand

Supported by increased offtake by retailers to meet rising demand, prices of masoor and its dal spurted by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today.

Besides, lower arrivals from producing regions also influenced the prices.

However, moong traded lower on sluggish demand at existing levels.

Marketmen said besides increased offtake on the back of rising demand from retailers, restricted arrivals from producing regions led to the rise in masoor and its dal prices.

In the national capital, masoor small and bold rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,400-5,600 and Rs 5,400-5,700, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 6,200-6,300 and Rs 6,300-6,400 per quintal, respectively.
 

Malka local and best quality followed suit and enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,700-6,000 and Rs 5,900-6,000 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, moong and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,200-7,500 and Rs 7,300-7,800 per quintal, respectively. Moong dal dhoya local and best quality also shed Rs 100 each at Rs 7,200-7,500 and Rs 8000-8,100 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates per quintal:

Urad 5,300-5,800, Urad Chilka (local) 6,500-6,700, best 6,750-7,350, Dhoya 7,000-7,400, Moong 6,200-7,500, Dal Moong Chilka local 7,300-7,800, Moong Dhoya local 7,200-7,500 and best quality 8,000-8,100.

Masoor small 5,400-5,600, bold 5,400-5,700, Dal Masoor local 6,200-6,300, best quality 6,300-6,400, Malka local 5,700-6,000, best 5,900-6,000, Moth 4,700-5,100, Arhar 4,700-4,800, Dal Arhar Dara 6,250-6,450.

Gram 2,900-3,650, Gram Dal (local) 3,800-4,000, best quality 3,900-4,000, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,500, Rajdhani 1,500, Rajmah Chitra 6,800-9,800, Kabli Gram small 4,000-6,600,dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,200-5,800,Peas white 2,950-3,000 and green 3,000-3,100.
