A massive fire broke out at a rubber factory in Aman Nagar here leading to loss of property worth lakhs of rupees, an official said today.

However, no loss of life has been reported so far, he said.

The fire, which broke out last evening, was brought under control after 12 hours of effort by 100 fire tenders, a fire department official said, adding that no damage was caused to adjacent buildings.

He said it was not clear whether crackers caused the fire.

Police investigations were underway to determine the reason behind the incident, he said.

The official held the string winds responsible for taking so long to control the fire.

Police said investigation was on, but prima facie, it appears that either crackers or short circuit at the factory could be the reason behind the fire.

The fire department official also said that other than this, 12 other incidents of fire were reported yesterday.
