Delhi police has arrested the mastermind involved in abduction of a transport company owner for extortion of money last month in south Delhi, police said today.
The accused Jai Bhagwan, 29, was arrested by a Crime Branch team from Jharoda Kalan on a tipp-off on October 3, said Ravindra Yadav Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).
Jai Bhagwan along with his two associates had abducted Ashok Sehrawat from Vasant Kunj (North) area and demanded extortion money of Rs 10 lakh on June 5. They later strangulated him and dumped him near Dhansa Border assuming him to be dead.

In order to provide financial help to his gang members, who are in jail and to pursue their cases, Bhagwan started threatening the wealthy people to extort money from them.
He planned abduction of Sehrawat along with his associates Nitin and Jonny and invited the victim for a party at 11 am on June 5. They added drugs to the drinks of Shehrawat and when he was overdrunk they abducted him.
Crime Branch had earlier arrested Nitin and efforts are being made to catch Jonny, who is absconding, he added.
