The mastermind of a robbery at real state firm Mahagun's corporate office in April was arrested here following a gunfight with the police on Monday, officials said.
The accused, an inter-state criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest, was held in the afternoon from Phase 2 police station area, a senior officer said.
"Sachin Thakur, a native of Sikandrabad in Bulandshahr district, was held this afternoon by a joint team of Star 1 (crime branch) and Phase 2 police station. When intercepted by the police, Sachin opened fire on the officials and got injured in retaliatory fire," Gautam Buddh Nagar SSP Vaibhav Krishna said.
Sachin has a dozen cases of loot, robbery and dacoity against him and was operating in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, the SSP said.
"He had planned the robbery on April 27/28 at the corporate office of Mahagun group in Noida Sector 63 also and a reward of Rs 1,00,000 was announced on his arrest in June," Krishna said.
The accused, also booked under the Gangsters Act, was wanted by the police in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, he said.

A firearm along with some ammunition was seized from Thakur and he was taken to hospital for treatment of the bullet injury on his leg, the SSP said.
A vault containing Rs 35 lakh and some documents of the Mahagun group were decamped by robbers on the intervening night of April 27 and 28 from the realty firm's corporate office in the commercial hub of Sector 63 in Noida.
Seven accused, including a supervisor of the company, were arrested in May in connection with the case.
