Mastermind of murder case held

The alleged mastermind of a murder case, and a daylight robbery at a jewellery store has been arrested by the Crime Branch, police said today.

The accused, identified as Satish Kumar(44), a native of Puth Khurd village of north-west Delhi, was the alleged mastermind of the murder of a property dealer near Income Tax colony in Pitampura area of west Delhi, registered in December 2008, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.

Kumar was also allegedly involved in a daylight robbery at a jewellery showroom in Rewari district of Haryana and was evading police ever since by using fake identity cards, police said.
 

"Acting on a tip-off that the accused would come to Karnal by-pass to board a bus to Punjab, police laid a trap and arrested him yesterday," said Yadav.

During interrogation the accused has also accepted his involvement in a recent theft case of a car at gun-point in Sector 15 of Rohini sub-city.

Police have recovered more than 1 kg gold, along with a 7.65 mm loaded pistol and the stolen car from Kumar's possession, police added.
