Mathrubhumi scribe gets K C Madhava Kurup award

Journalist Dr K Sreekumar of Mathrubhumi daily of Kozhikode Bureau has been chosen for the K C Madhava Kurup Award in general reporting category, instituted by Calicut Press Club.

Disclosing the names of winners here today, Kamal Varadoor, President, Calicut Press Club, said Kairali-People television channel reporter R K Jayprakash has been selected for the P Unnikrishnan award for best television news story.

Chandrika newspaper's A P Ismail has been chosen for best designer award instituted in the name of Theruvathu Raman.

In sports reporting, C K Rajeesh Kumar of Deepika daily, Kottayam bureau, bagged the 'Mushtaq Sports Journalism' award while in photography section, Madhyamam daily photographer Mustafa Aboobacker of Malappuram bureau has been chosen for the award, he said.
 

The award carrying prize money and citation will be given away to the winners by Kerala Industries minister, P K Kunhalikutty, at a function to be held at the Calicut Press Club, on December 28.
