Mathura gang-rape case: All 6 accused arrested

All six accused in the alleged gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl in Pingari village here were arrested today, police said.

While five were arrested in the day near Kurkanda village crossing under Farah police station when they were attempting to flee the village, the sixth accused was nabbed late in the night, SSP Nitin Tewari said.

The accused arrested have been identified as Manoj, Guddu, Danno, Ramveer, Shekhar and Mahesh.

On July 19, the girl had gone to relieve herself in the fields when the accused allegedly gang-raped her.

An FIR was filed by the police against the accused on the complaint of the girl on July 20.
 

Three teams, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajai Pal Sharma, were able to arrest all accused within 24 hours of receiving the complaint, Tiwari said.
