In order to curb crime rate and provide speedy justice, district police has initiated a novel plan to dispose off maximum cases falling under the jurisdiction of their police stations on a single day.

"While it would provide speedy justice to aggrieved party, the unsocial elements, fearing immediate action, would desist from committing crime," SSP Babloo Kumar said, adding it would pave the way for district level officers for disposing off more applications."

On experimental basis, 523 cases were settled at police station level last Sunday.

"Inorder to promote the system, while Goverdhan police station was awarded first prize with a record disposal of79 applications, Kosi Kalan police station was declared second with disposal of 62 applications. Total 523 applications were disposed off on a single day," he stated.

Now the constables attachedto the respective police stations have also been assigned duty to verify applications.

"Constables now would not only confine to their police station but they would verify the applications received at the police station, by visiting their area with a close watch on the activities of history-sheeters," he said.
