Managers of the 'gaushalas' would be given proper training in cow-keeping and nutrition.
"Training for preparation of silage (green fodder stored in airtight conditions without being dried and used in the winter) would also be given since it is not only nutritious, digestive and cheap but animals also like it," Pathak said.
The University has also signed an MOU with Uttar Pradesh Livestock Development Board for supply of semen.
"Good quality of Sahiwal breed semen, as per the MOU, would be received at the University. It would be used for up-gradation of indigenous and non-nondescript, breed of cow present in the 'gaushalas' other areas of the district," he said.
In order to make goshalas self-relient, managers would also be trained for preparation of value-added products like like 'paneer', 'khova' etc, Pathak said.
