Mauritius High Commissioner meets Nitish

The High Commissioner of Mauritius to India J Goburdhun today met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and invited him to his country on the occasion of NRI conclave there on November two next.

"The Mauritius High Commissioner invited CM to attend the NRI day in the country on November 2, 2017 as chief guest," an official statement said here.

The Bihar CM honoured Goburdhun at his official residence.

Bihar has a special connection with Mauritius for a long time. More than 60 per cent of the population of Mauritius is of Indian origin. Of them, many people are from Bihar with Bhojpuri as their mother tongue.
 

Sharing historical bond, Mauritius and Bihar jointly organize 'Bhojpuri festival' every year to keep the language alive.

The Mauritius High Commissioner while attending a function at the AIIMS Patna yesterday had expressed his desire to have a regular exchange of programmes of medical establishments of Mauritius with AIIMS Patna.
