Mawana Sugar Mill has been asked to pay its outstanding dues to farmers by November this year, a district administration official said today.
Mawana Sugars, which has to pay Rs 180 crore, has also been instructed to submit an action plan regarding the repayment, within three days, Meerut District Magistrate Jagat Raj said.
"The administration wants to ensure that the farmers get proper payment and in time. An FIR has already been filed against Mawana sugar mill. If they fail to pay the dues by November, stern action will be taken against them," said Raj.

Mawana has only paid Rs 36.5 per cent of the total amount and it still has to pay Rs 180 crore.
On the other hand, Mohiuddinpur sugar mill, Daurala sugar mill and Sakoti sugar mill have already paid their dues in full at the rate of Rs 280 per kg while Nanglamal sugar mill and Kinauni sugar mill have paid entirely at the rate of Rs 230 per kg.
