Maximum complaints of air travellers regarding poor hygiene, deficient services or negligence of duties in 2016 were against Ahmedabad airport among the 73 operational aerodromes in the country.

There were 390 complaints against Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport, followed by 169 against Jaipur airport and 149 against Mangalore airport among the 73 operational aerodromes in the country, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said in Lok Sabha today.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) takes immediate corrective steps to resolve the complaints as and when received, he said.

"The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) and Customer Satisfaction Index Survey reports are analysed and deficiencies observed in the survey reports are taken up on priority by AAI and Central Head Quarter with the respective airports for corrective action," Sinha said.

The government also added that the ASQ score for airports of AAI is 4.55, which is higher than the global average of 4.15 for the year 2016.
