The Wanted star Max George has reportedly saved a young boy from drowning in the ocean.

The British boy-band heartthrob was enjoying a day at the beach in Santa Monica, California, with two friends earlier this week, reported E! Online.

They were splashing around in the water, about 100 feet from the shore, when they saw a boy, looked to be about 10-year-old, seemingly losing his battle with a riptide.

George, 26, reacted instantly, swimming to the boy's rescue and got him safely back to shore-holding him up above the water all the way.

And with that, the Manchester native has joined the ranks of other celebrities including the likes of Tom Cruise, Ryan Gosling and Zoe Saldana, who have saved lives from drowning.
