Max Life Insurance has launched 'Max Life Future Genius Education Plan' to make parents ready to meet money needs for children education.

"It is a comprehensive non-linked participating insurance plan designed to secure the future of your child by ensuring that his/her educational needs are met even in case of unforeseen events," the company said in a release.

It will not only meet the financial protection to meet a child's academic potential, the plan also offers flexibility, it said.

Paytm announces 30 scholarships for student entrepreneurs * Mobile payments and commerce platform, Paytm today announced a scholarship programme for engineering students to launch their startup, in association with The Startup Village.
 

The move will offer 30 scholarships to Indian students looking to start ventures, and is aimed at nurturing the country's next generation of entrepreneurs, Paytm said in a statement here.

The #StartInCollege programme will handpick 50 student teams from across 3,500 engineering colleges.

These teams will then compete to launch their products.

The Paytm scholarship will offer financial assistance to these engineering students.

Nutanix acquires PernixData and Calm.Io * Enterprise cloud computing company Nutanix today announced that it has acquired data analytics firm PernixData, and development operations automation innovator Calm.Io.

Through the strategic acquisitions, Nutanix aims to accelerate the delivery of an Enterprise Cloud Platform that rivals the agility, automation and consumer-grade simplicity of the public cloud but with the control, security and long-term economics of on-premises infrastructure, it said.
The Murugappa Group firm Tube Investments of India (TII)

has launched country's first online bicycle brand Brooks.

BrooksBicycle.Com will offer a range of city, off-road and kids bicycles and will be available for sale on the e-store. To begin with, it will also be made available through horizontal e-commerce portal Flipkart, said a statement.

"We are aiming to provide a seamless online buying experience to the new-gen consumer who prefers shopping online. Through our initiative, we are providing ready-to-roll products for those who want to take to cycling to lead an active lifestyle," TII Managing Director L Ramkumar said.

State-run Power Grid Corp's board of directors today approved three investment proposals for projects and works related to power transmission worth Rs 429.31 crore.

The board of director has accorded their approvals for the investments in projects at meeting held today, Power Grid said in a BSE filing today.

According to the statement, these include proposal for "ICTs & Bays associated with Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme (NRSS-XXXVIII)" at an estimated cost of Rs 337.75 crore with commissioning schedule of 27 months from the date of investment approval.
