Max temperature above normal in Punjab and Haryana

The maximum temperature today hovered above normal levels at most places in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 40.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, the met department said.

In Punjab, Patiala had a hot day at 41.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal. Ludhiana too braved hot weather, at 41.6 degrees Celsius, up three degrees, while Amritsar's maximum settled at 39.8.

In Haryana, Hisar was the hottest place at 42 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal while Narnaul, witnessed a high of 41.8, up one degree.

Ambala and Karnal recorded similar highs at 40.5 and 40 degrees Celsius respectively.
