Max temperature hovers above normal in Haryana, Punjab

The maximum temperature today hovered above normal limits at most places in Haryana and Punjab.

Union Territory Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 33.8 degrees Celsius, up one notch against normal limits, the MeT Department report said here.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius, up one notch against normal, while Karnal's maximum settled at 33 degrees Celsius.

Sultry weather prevailed in Hisar, which recorded a high of 36.2 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal limits.

Ludhiana recorded a high of 36 degrees Celsius, up three notches against normal, while Patiala's maximum settled at 35 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
 

The MeT has forecast possibility of rain or thunder showers at a few places in both the states, including Chandigarh over the next two days.
