Max temperatures above normal in Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperatures today went up by few notches above normal level at most places in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh recorded the maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the MeT Department said here.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while Hisar's maximum settled at 36.7 degrees Celsius, it said.

Karnal recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal level.

In Punjab, mercury in Amritsar settles at 35.8 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala registered their maximum at 34.5 and 34.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
