Maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana hovered close to normal limits on Monday with Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recording a high of 35.9 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.
Ambala in Haryana registered a high of 37 degrees Celsius, while Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul recorded maximum temperatures of 35.5 degrees Celsius, 33.4 degrees Celsius and 36.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 35 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala registered their respective maximum temperatures at 35.3 degrees Celsius and 36.4 degrees Celsius.
The weather department has forecast, light to moderate rains at a few places on Tuesday and at most places in the subsequent days of this week.
