Max temperatures stay close to normal in Pb, Haryana

Temperatures today remained close to normal in most part of Punjab and Haryana as a few places experienced rainfall.

The MeT department has predicted rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hrs.

Union Territory Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius while it received rainfall of 0.7mm, a MeT department report said.

In Haryana, Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul recorded maximum temperature at 38.1 degrees Celsius, 36.8 degrees Celsius and 38.5 degrees Celsius respectively. Hisar's maximum was 40 degrees Celsius.

Ambala and Karnal received rainfall of 0.3 mm and 2.6 mm respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums at 38.5 degrees Celsius, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 37.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
 

MeT department in its forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
