The maximum temperatures hovered close to normal levels in most parts of Punjab and Haryana Wednesday.
UT Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, registered its maximum temperature at 32.3 degrees Celsius, according to the MeT Department here.
The city also received 0.4 mm of rainfall.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal recorded their maximum temperatures at 31.9, 33.3, 35.9 and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Narnaul witnessed a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 36.3 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures at 34 and 32.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to a forecast by the MeT Department, light to moderate rains were likely to take place at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
