The maximum temperature at most places in Haryana and Punjab, including Chandigarh, today hovered close to the normal limits.
The union territory received light showers and recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees Celsius, as per the MeT department's report.
Hisar in Haryana registered a high of 35.1 degrees Celsius, down one notch against the normal, while Ambala recorded a maximum of 34.2 degrees Celsius, it said.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala recorded 34.7 degrees Celsius each.
The MeT department has predicted rain or thundershowers at many places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
