Maximum seizure of fake currency notes with a face value of over Rs 2.64 crore was made from the Indo-Pak frontier compared to other land borders between 2010 and February this year, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
The Indo-Myanmar border, during the same period reported the highest seizure of 42,394 kg narcotics, followed by a haul of 21,779 kg illegal drugs along the Indo-Bangla border, Minister of State for Home M Ramachandran told Lok Sabha in a written reply.
The Bangaldesh frontier also recorded the second highest fake Indian currency seizure during the same period with a face value of Rs 1.56 crore, he said.

Besides, 631 arms were seized on the Indo-Myanmar border followed by 161 weapons from Indo-Bangladesh border, he said, adding similar seizures from Indo-Pak, Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan borders during the same period.
