Maximum few notches above normal in Pb, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today hovered a few notches above normal level in Punjab and Haryana even as light rains lashed some places in the region.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 36.4 degrees Celsius, up by one degree above normal, Met department report said.

The union territory received 0.2 mm of rain.

In Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul recorded maximum of 36.9 deg C, 40 deg C, 41.3 deg C, 36 deg C, and 38.1 deg C respectively.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala received rainfall of 0.7 mm and 0.2 mm while their maximum were 36.1 deg C and 36.4 deg C respectively.
 

Amritsar recorded 38.4 degree Celsius temperature, up by three notches above normal.

The Met department has predicted partly cloudy weather in next 24 hours in Punjab and Haryana.
