Maximum temperatures hovered around normal levels today in most places across Punjab and Haryana.
The Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 33.9 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, the MeT department said.
Hisar in Haryana continued to record the highest temperature for the two neighbouring states as the mercury there settled at 37 degrees, two notches above normal. Karnal registered a high of 32.6 degrees.

The maximum in Ambala was at 33.4 degrees while sultry conditions prevailed in Bhiwani, which recorded a high of 36.4 degrees.
The mercury settled at 33.8 degrees in Amritsar of Punjab while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums of 33.5 and 34 degrees, respectively.
