Maximum temp hovers around normal level in Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperature today hovered around normal levels in Punjab and Haryana while humid weather conditions prevailed in the region.

Union Territory Chandigarh had a maximum of 34.2 deg C while it received negligible rainfall of 0.9 mm, Met office said here today.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala had a high of 34.4 deg C, 35 deg C and 34.2 deg C respectively.

In Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani and Hisar recorded mercury at 34.4 deg C, 33.6 deg C and 33.6 deg C respectively.

Karnal, which received rainfall of 10.4 mm, settled at 34 deg C while Narnaul had a maximum of 33.3 deg C.
 

The Met department in its forecast said light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana.
