Maximum temperatures across Punjab and Haryana today rose by a few notches but hovered close to or below normal limits.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 38 degrees Celsius, down one notch against normal, the MeT department said.
In Haryana, Ambala registered a high of 38.9 degrees Celsius, while Hisar's maximum settled at 37.2 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal. Karnal recorded a high of 37.4 degrees Celsius, close to normal.
In Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius. Amritsar registered a maximum of 37.2 degrees Celsius, down three notches, while Patiala recorded a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
