Maximum temp hovers just above normal in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today continued to hover just above normal levels at most places in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 34 deg C, one notch above normal, the MeT Department said here.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 36 deg C, up two notches while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 35.3 deg C, up one notch against normal.

Patiala recorded a high of 35.3 deg C, two degrees above normal limits.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.1 deg C while Hisar's maximum settled at 37 deg C, one notch above normal. Karnal recorded a high of 33 deg C.
 

A MeT Department official said that weather remained generally dry today across the two states and Chandigarh.
