Maximum temp rises across Himachal

The maximum day temperatures rose by few notches across Himachal Pradesh even even as sky remained overcast in most parts of the state.

Una in Shivalik foothills recorded maximum temperature at 36.8 deg C, two points above normal.

The state capital Shimla, which was lashed by strong winds accompanied by sharp showers, settled at a maximum of 24 deg C, five notches above normal.

Elsewhere, Nahan recorded a high of 31.9 deg C, followed by Sundernagar at 28.8 deg C, Solan 28.2 deg C, Bhunter 23.6 deg C, Dharamsala 22.8 deg C and Kalpa 12 deg C.

Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti was coldest in the region with minimum temperature at 1.3 deg C. Kalpa in the adjoining Kinnaur district recorded a low of 4.2 deg C, followed by Manali at 4.4 deg C.
