Maximum temperature close to normal in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today dropped slightly since yesterday at most places in Punjab and Haryana and hovered close to normal limits.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 deg C, the MeT Department said here.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 33.9 deg C, up one notch while Hisar's maximum settled at 37 deg C, one notch above normal. Karnal recorded a high of 33.6 deg C.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 31.2 deg C, down three notches against normal while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 33.1 deg C.

Patiala recorded a high of 34.5 deg C, one degree more than normal limits.
