Maximum temperature hovers around normal level in Pb, Haryana

Mercury today hovered around normal level in Punjab and Haryana even as humid conditions made life tough for people in the region.

Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded maximum temperature at 35.5 degrees Celsius with humidity level at 93 per cent, MeT department said here.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala and Hisar had a high of 35.4 and 39.2 degrees respectively while Narnaul settled at 35.5 deg C, up by two notches.

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded maximum at 36.8 and 36 degrees respectively while Patiala settled at 36 degrees, up by two degrees above normal.

Humidity level at various places remained between 80 and 90 per cent.
 

The forecast is for light to moderate rainfall at isolated placed in Punjab and Haryana in the coming 24 hours.
