Chandigarh recorded a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 33 degrees Celsius, a MeT Department report said.
Ludhiana recorded a high of 34.5 degrees Celsius while Patiala registered a maximum of 36.2 degrees.
Karnal in Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius.
Ambala registered a high of 36.5 degrees Celsius while Hisar's maximum settled at 36 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature had hovered between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius at most places in the two states yesterday.
