Maximum temperatures hover above normal in Pb, Haryana

Maximum temperatures continued to stay above normal levels in Punjab and Haryana with Hisar district recording a high of 40 degree Celsius.

Union Territory and common capital of both the states - Chandigarh recorded a high of 36.5 deg C, up by four notches above normal, MeT department report said.

In Punjab, maximum temperatures in Amritsar and Ludhiana were 36.9 deg C and 35.4 deg C while Patiala's maximum was 36.6 deg C.

In Haryana, Mercury in Hisar settled at 40 deg C, up by 4 degrees above normal.

Ambala, Bhiwani, Narnaul and Karnal had highs of 35.8 deg C, 39 deg C, 38 deg C and 34.6 deg C respectively.
 

The weather department said Punjab and Haryana will experience partly cloudy conditions in next three days.
